Dr. Win Pound was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended the Westminster Schools and then went to Duke University. From there, he went to the Medical College of Georgia, followed by residency training in general surgery and plastic surgery at the University of Tennessee – Memphis and SUNY-Downstate Medical Center. He joined his father in practice in Atlanta in 1990.
Over the past thirty years, Dr. Pound has participated in twenty trips to South and Central America with a group called Healing the Children, bringing surgical care to the poorest of the poor in various countries in the southern hemisphere. The work primarily involved repair of congenital deformities and burn reconstruction. It is Dr. Pound’s effort to give back something for all the blessings in his life. As he is fond of saying: “What you are is God’s gift to you. What you become is your gift to God.”
Dr. Pound has been married to his wife, Laura, for thirty-eight years. They have four wonderful children, Curry, Nealy, Austin, and Alex along with two beautiful granddaughters, Millie and Sarah. Dr. Pound currently resides in Blairsville, Georgia.
